Blenheim

Blenheim arrives in neat vineyard rows, bright river flats and warm light across the Wairau Valley. Beyond the cultivated calm, the hills begin to fold toward the watery maze of the Marlborough Sounds. It is a lovely reminder that a working landscape can still feel wonderfully spacious.

About Blenheim

Marlborough produces the majority of New Zealand's wine, and its Sauvignon Blanc is known well beyond the country's borders - the neat vineyard rows around Blenheim are the clearest evidence of that from the air. History-minded pilots will also want to find Omaka Aerodrome just south of town, home to a remarkable WWI and WWII aviation collection. In Fly South, Blenheim is a good place to get your bearings: the valley is wide and flat, the vineyard grid gives a clean sense of scale and direction, and from here you can head north into the Sounds or turn toward the coast at Picton.
