Fly South / Aotearoa New Zealand
Christchurch / ŌTautahi
Ōtautahi Christchurch is a city of leafy parks, river bends and a clear central grid beneath wide skies. The Avon threads through Hagley Park and the city centre, while the Port Hills rise like a green threshold to Lyttelton Harbour. It feels both settled and open to adventure.
About Christchurch / Ōtautahi
Rebuilt substantially after the 2011 earthquake, Christchurch retains its reputation as the Garden City, its parks and river gardens easy to pick out from above. The Port Hills separate the city from Lyttelton Harbour and Banks Peninsula, an eroded volcanic landform very different in shape from the flat plains around it. In Fly South, Christchurch works well as a home base: loop the river and city centre, climb over the Port Hills for a view of the harbour beyond, or head straight west into the plains where the Southern Alps sit permanently on the horizon.
