Fiordland National Park
Fiordland National Park is a huge wilderness of deep fiords, rainforest, alpine lakes and mountains that disappear into cloud. Visitors come for Milford and Doubtful Sound, the Milford Track, glowworm caves and the chance to see rare birds such as takahē. Rain is part of the show here, sending fresh waterfalls down the cliffs.

Among the wettest places on Earth, Fiordland can receive more than seven metres of rain a year, feeding countless waterfalls and keeping the forest permanently green. It's also one of the last strongholds of rare native birds like the takahē, once thought extinct. In Fly South, no two passes through Fiordland look the same, even along an identical route - cloud, rain and light change constantly, and waterways cut so deep into the ranges that the mountains can feel close enough to touch on either wingtip.
