Fly South / Aotearoa New Zealand
Lake ŌHau
Lake Ōhau is a clear alpine lake beneath the Ben Ōhau Range, set between the famous waters of Tekapo and Pukaki. A small ski field sits above the lake, while braided valleys lead north toward Aoraki country. It is a quieter Mackenzie stop for lakeside walks, fishing and big mountain views.
About Lake Ōhau
Broad braided river valleys lead north from the lake toward the Aoraki / Mount Cook high country, and a small ski area on the surrounding range draws winter visitors. In Fly South, Ōhau makes a peaceful departure point: sweep along the water, follow the valley north into bigger mountain country, or turn east over the dry, wide-open tussock basin.
