Mount Aspiring National Park
Mount Aspiring National Park is a vast alpine playground where rivers run out from beneath glaciers and peaks stack up to the horizon. Tititea / Mount Aspiring stands above it all with a wonderfully clean, pyramidal profile. The deeper you look, the more the park seems to keep going.
About Mount Aspiring National Park
It's New Zealand's third-largest national park, and much of it is genuinely remote - the Routeburn Track, one of the Great Walks, crosses only a small part of it. Braided rivers like the Rees and Dart lead deep into valleys rarely seen except from the air. In Fly South, this is a place to leave the roads behind entirely: follow the rivers upstream, keep an eye on the glacier-cut ridges, and let the scale of the park build gradually as the valleys narrow and the peaks close in.
