Fly South / Aotearoa New Zealand
Paradise
Paradise is a real place, though it does its best to live up to the name. A quiet valley of beech forest, braided riverbed and mountains, it has the hushed, storybook quality that filmmakers noticed long ago. Arriving here feels like finding a secret beyond Glenorchy.
About Paradise
Despite the name, Paradise is a real place - a small rural locality rather than a town, defined by braided rivers, dense forest edges and the peaks rising around Lake Wakatipu's head. In Fly South, it makes a beautiful detour: fly the valley beneath the peaks, trace the rivers and forest margins, and use it as a quiet back-country diversion from the lake below.
