Fly South / Launch point
Queenstown
Queenstown has a way of making ordinary days feel like the opening scene of an adventure. Lake Wakatipu catches the light below town while the Remarkables rise sharply on the other side. It is energetic, beautiful and always pointing you toward the next mountain pass.
About Queenstown
Commercial bungy jumping began here at the Kawarau Bridge in the 1980s, and the surrounding mountains host ski fields at Coronet Peak and the Remarkables. The Skyline Gondola climbs straight up from the town centre for sweeping views over the basin. In Fly South, Queenstown is an excellent place to get oriented: the lake points north and south, the Remarkables rise sharply to the east, and roads lead naturally toward Glenorchy, Wānaka and Central Otago - there's always another valley just beyond the next ridge.
